Scrap #01 – PaCkInG uP mY sTuFf!!
With my exams closing in on May 9, I swept my room clean of all my stuff and took off home the same day. You see, the hurry was mainly because, my brother n I had a train to catch the very next day.
May 10 kinda flew away in a flurry of events. I managed to do the packing all by myself except that I left my room damn messy for my mom to neat it all up again. Then, somehow my girls managed to make time for me n came up to meet me at my home. Spent a nice cosy sister-time with the girls and redid my packing again with their help (I basically decided to carry 3 bags and still could not stuff the things in). The girls helped me in choosing to leave a few things behind. Some of them were,
· HANKIES: I was going for an 8 week internship. So, it eventually comes up to 60 days (Rounded it off). But, Nani (one of my girls) found out that I had packed in almost 75-80 hankies. Immediately got told off and so, had to leave back most of them. (FYI, am a ‘Match the Hanky’ Freak).
· SISTERHOOD SKIRT: We girls have a sisterhood rule which we copied from the movie ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’. But, instead of the pants, we pass around a full-length skirt. It was with me n I had stuffed it in. But, it was looking too bulgy. So, D (my other girl) just came by, pulled it out n kept it with her.
· GAME OF THRONES: This book weighed just a little more than a pound and was nearly 800 pages long. So, “Cmon gal, chuck it out, you’ll be having Project work all day in Indore”, I told myself this stupid statement. And it turned out 2 be kinda true.
· HOLLY: My only best companion when my girls are not around. Holly has been with me for the past 3 years n still counting. And, Err, am not totally sure whether it’s a Teddy or a Puppy. It looks like a cross between the two. When I crammed it in, its nose slightly got distorted. I freaked out and pulled it out. Now, that fella is nestled up cosily in my cot back at home.
· LAYS: I went out to purchase a few travel necessities and outta my usual craze for junkies, I bought 3 ‘PaRtY pAcK’ Lays. But, it was a no-go into the bags and I ended up emptying two of the packs at home and managed to convince my bro to carry the last one.
So, finally, by 10pm, I was all set for the 2 day-long train journey to Bhopal. (Oho, I know what you are thinking right now. Don worry, I took a nice long warm bath n scrapped myself hard to stay clean for the next two days ;P ). I was looking all lush n proud that I had managed to pack only based on necessity. But, then, my bro came in sporting just one bag in total n my proud self deflated like a balloon. Anyways, never worry, I have got so many more journeys ahead in my life. One day, I too am sure gonna learn to cram in everything in ONE bag.
Train yet to come,
Kay..<3..!!
